I have been working with transformation in one form or another for more than 20 years. In that time I have come to know that effective change requires a deep acceptance of where you are, and a compelling motivation to do something different.
The root of my work is very similar both for personal transformation as for business clients: I establish "what they want to have happen for them" and learn what might be in the way. It may simply be that they need more information, to unblock obstacles, to give themselves permission or to reframe an old way of doing things. In this way we agree how to welcome change and make some positive steps towards their goals.
I became interested in personal development in my 20s. and was particularly interested in the Rites of Passage for western men, and who initiates us. My questions came into sharp focus at a weekend retreat for men (New Warrior Adventure Training), where initiation was a core component.
Over the years I found myself bringing the lessons from this initiation into my professional life and sought more formal training. Through this route I discovered the extraordinary approach taken by Shadow Work practitioners, particularly for their focus on emotional safety and a non-shaming environment.
Training and Influences
I have completed formal training in Shadow Work Coaching, and as a Group Facilitator via the Leader Track. I have also accredited as a BGI Strategy Coach.
I have used this training and my working experience to co-create 4 Quarter Coaching with Edwina, who also practices as a Shadow Work Coach.
